Change

For so long, I hated change. It wasn't just that I myself hated change, but my body couldn't handle it. It reacted in a hurricane of panic and illness, so I avoided it at all costs in order to avoid those feelings. After so many rough, hard years, I made a huge change in my life, and that one decision changed my entire life and created this amazing world for myself that I live in now. I accepted who I was, I unlearned who I had made myself become, and I burst through the doors in front of the crowd wearing rainbows so proudly into a world that no one could take away from me. I quit doing what everyone else expected me to do and followed my heart and did what would make ME happy. Today I live the life I have always dreamed of with my wife and my boys. We work together to continue to build the life we both love. It has been an amazing and tough journey that we would never change. And that change has made me realize that in order to have the life you dream of, you have to continue to work hard and make small changes along the way. Sometimes it's scary. Sometimes I question if it's the right thing for me and my family, but I continue to push through and build my dream. My most recent change has been another change in jobs. Due to my health, I need to make changes and in doing that, I am working towards my passion. Thanks to my diagnoses, I have had to make a lot of health choices, and I am still learning more and more about my condition. The handfuls of medications that I take each day are so upsetting. I am striving to find alternatives to help reduce the amount of medications I take each day, and I have a passion for helping people to do the same. So, here I am on a new adventure. I will still be working in orthopedic surgery 3 days a week, but I am now moving onto a wellness center. Here I will be helping w IV infusions and injections of different vitamins and nutrients. There, they also offer a number of different wellness treatments such as cryotherapy, red light therapy, bio marker assessments, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cryo skin, facials, and compression. The benefits of these treatments are endless, and I hope to help people, as well as myself, find better alternatives, other ways of life, and healthier selves. I have been given this opportunity with such a huge space for growth in a direction I have been talking about for a long time. There are draw backs to this job change but I know this is right. I will not get to where I want to be without taking the rocky steps to get there.
A huge thank you to my amazing wife. She has been so supportive, has cheered me on, and is so excited that I am heading towards what I am passionate about. She is simply amazing, and if I hadn't made the huge change I did several years ago, I wouldn't have the courage or the support that I have to make this change now. Each day I am growing, learning more about myself, truly blossoming, and hopefully showing people or encouraging them to make the change and do it. Put yourself first. It is worth it. Once you are truly happy, the people you surround yourself with will be just as happy too, and you won't have time for those that are not.
